Renton police searching for child molester

Renton police are searching for a man who is charged with three different counts of child molestation, and people who submit tips about the man could be eligible for a reward.

According to the Renton Police Department (RPD), Juvenal Esquivel Cabrera, 40, of Renton, is charged with first, second and third-degree child molestation. According to RPD, there is a $500,000 warrant for Cabrera’s arrest, and people can submit anonymous tips at P3Tips.com or call 800-222-8477 and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.

According to charging documents, Cabrera groomed a family member and sexually assaulted them between the ages of 9 and 18. Documents state that the alleged victim said that Cabrera would commit assaults against them multiple times a week.

Documents state that the assaults began with inappropriate touching and other behavior, but eventually the assaults progressed to rape. The alleged victim told officers that Cabrera would manipulate them, and they would try to get it to stop, but Cabrera would continue that harassment and force himself upon them.

According to documents, the alleged victim told officers that they are very afraid of Cabrera and fear he will flee to Mexico. The alleged victim said that when she turned 18 years old, she moved in with a friend after telling her and their family about the abuse, and Cabrera then said he would flee if the crime were reported. Documents state that Cabrera subsequently told a family member to purchase him a ticket to Texas or Mexico.
