The first weekend of September marked the one year anniversary of downtown Renton’s Macadons, where loyal customers and macaron lovers lined up underneath Erasmus the Dragon, waiting for anniversary sales and a chance to celebrate the flagship shop’s milestone.

Sarah Short and Ian Atwater of Renton were the first in line, having arrived at Macadons hours before the macaron shop opened.

“We come here every month for the flavor of the month,” said Short, who was carrying her Macadon brand tote bag. After buying their twelve-pack of macarons, the couple entered a raffle and posed for a photo set up in the shop.

Macadon’ offers a variety of macaron flavors, ice cream, and special-order macarons with customized text or images on the cookie part of the dessert.

Macadons is located at the corner of 3rd Street and Wells Avenue in downtown Renton and is open Sunday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, visit seattle.macadons.com.
