Renton Technical College was re-certified as an “Achieving the Dream Leader College” on Wednesday. It is a national designation awarded to community colleges that commit to improving student success and closing achievement gaps.
There are only about 16 colleges in the nation that receive this honor, according to a college press release.
“Renton Technical College is honored to be among the Achieving the Dream’s Leader Colleges,” said Steve Hanson, RTC’s President. “Our recertification as a Leader College recognizes the ongoing commitment of our Board, faculty and staff, and instructional programs and support services that are focused on student success. We look forward to our continued work as an active partner in the Achieving the Dream network.”
Achieving the Dream Leader Colleges have shown how data can inform policy and practice to help community college students achieve their goals, resulting in improved skills, better employability, and economic growth for families, communities, and the nation as a whole.
