Excessive heat warning in effect as temperatures expected to soar into 90s again

It’s going to be another hot one today and the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the Seattle Metropolitan area extending to 11 p.m. tonight, Monday.

Today’s weather is expected to be much like yesterday, with highs reaching in to the 90s. Humidity will also be slightly higher than Sunday.

Those sensitive to heat, such as senior citizens and those working outdoors should take precautions against the heat.

In addition, strenuous activities should be rescheduled for the early evening.

The hot weather also draws people to lakes and rivers, which can still be cold enough to be dangerous. River currents are also very strong this time of year.

Tuesday is expected to be a little cooler, but temperatures will remain above normal, topping out around 88.

The cooling continues through the week with Wednesday only predicted at 83 and Thursday, July 4, looking great with sunny skies and high near 79.
