It’s only a drill; Valley SWAT to conduct exercises in downtown Renton today

Residents who see a large police presence in South Renton today should not worry: it’s only a drill.

The Valley SWAT team will be conducting exercises this afternoon at the site of former Big 5 Sports on South Third Street.

Training exercises are scheduled to go on from noon to 8 p.m.

Again, it is only an exercise.
