Renton School Board to name interim superintendent Wednesday night

The Renton School District will soon get a new superintendent.

The school board is expected to vote on an interim superintendent at a special meeting Wednesday night at district headquarters, 300 SW Seventh St. in Renton.

The vote follows last Friday’s announcement that current Super. Mary Alice Heuschel is moving on to become the chief of staff for Gov.-elect Jay Inslee.

The school board will also hear the district’s proposal for the interim superintendent and the plan to hire a search firm to conduct a nationwide search to the next permanent superintendent.  Heuschel served as the district’s superintendent for six years.
