If you happen to drive by South End Auto Wrecking Saturday, don’t be surprised if you see something other than dead cars.

Renton photographer Brian Morris is putting on his third Zombie photoshoot, this time at the wrecking yard at 3400 E. Valley Road in Renton.

Last year, the photoshoot was at a small cemetery between Kent and Renton.

Unlike other such Halloween-time events with zombies milling around, Morris has set up what he describes as a controlled and staged environment where make-up professionals transform “normal people” into the undead, who are the actors in the preset scenes. The undead will battle with the heroes.

Photographers, by buying a ticket to the event, can then photograph the scenes and “produce their own version of a zombie apocalypse complete with smoke machines, lighting, and a great location.”

More than 100 people are involved in this year’s event between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

“I really wanted an event to help photographers gain knowledge about their craft and it is still true today,” said Morris, owner of Morning Star Creative Group.

Spectators can come watch the “carnage” too, he said.
