Three Renton Special Olympic teams make state basketball tournament

Three Renton Special Olympic basketball teams will compete in the Special Olympic basketball state tournament in Wenatchee March 2-4.

The Renton Blue Devils, Renton Extreme and Renton stars all qualified for the state tournament through regionals. The Extreme played through a single-elimination tournament to finish first at regionals.

The teams practice twice a week at McKnight Middle School and Highlands Elementary School. Volunteer coaches are Melanie Thompson, Colin Edwards Roxanne Henry-Edwards.
