Renton senior Aaron Garcia finished third at 103 pounds at the 2A Washignton State Mat Classic Saturday.

Garcia beat Othello’s Anthony Barrera on a 7-0 decision in the first round, then pinned Chris Jenkins of Granite Falls in the second round. The eventual state champion, Ellensburg’s Wyatt Scribner, topped Garcia 8-3.

Garcia then beat Quincy’s Gabe Martinez and Klahowya’s Brian Burchett in the consolation bracket to finish third. Garcia went 41-2 this season with his only two losses coming to the first and second place wrestlers at the state meet (Scribner and Adam Burchett of Klahowya).
