Woodinville struck first, but Liberty struck hardest. The Patriots won 35-14 Friday night.

Woodinville scored on a 39-yard passing touchdown to open the game’s scoring, but Liberty’s (2-0) Jake Bainton got the Patriots back on top quickly.

Quarterback Trey Wheeler found Bainton for a 38-yard passing touchdown in the first quarter that tied the game 7-7. Bainton then intercepted a Woodinville pass on the next drive and came up with a clutch 43-yard pass on a third down on Liberty’s next drive. Wheeler found Chandler Jenkins on a four-yard passing touchdown a short time later.

Wheeler and Bainton connected again for a 26-yard touchdown before the half.

Two rushing touchdowns from Jenkins (15 yards and nine yards) widened Liberty’s lead in the second half. Jenkins rushed 22 times for 175 yards on the night.

Bainton caught six passes for 145 yards. He intercepted two passes on defense.
