Update on Renton baseball players now at college

Washington State University: Lindbergh’s Patrick Claussen and John Desmarais, plus Liberty’s Ryan Peterson.

– Claussen, a freshman infielder, is third on the team in batting average, at .318 and second on the team in runs with 17.

He has started 18 of the Cougars 25 games this season.

Claussen has five doubles, four RBI and a .387 on-base percentage. He leads the team with four steals (in six attempts).

– Peterson, a sophomore first baseman, has started eight games. He has a .222 batting average, a triple and four RBI.

– Desmarais, a sophomore outfielder, has started seven games. He has a .207 batting average, two doubles and three RBI.

University of Washington: Renton’s Justin Gunn.

– Gunn, a freshman infielder/pitcher, has appeared in three games. He has one hit and one walk in three plate appearances.

Central Washington University: Lindbergh’s Andrew Snowdon.

– Snowdon, a senior catcher, has started 23 games this season. He has a .306 batting average (sixth on team). He’s scored 12 runs and has nine RBI. Snowdon has also pitched 9.2 innings and has one win.

Pacific Lutheran University: Liberty’s Sammy Davis and Jaron Iwakami.

– Davis, a sophomore infielder, has started all 25 games for the Lutes this season. He is batting .308 with 20 runs scored and 17 RBI.

– Iwakami, a freshman outfielder, has started once and played in 14 games this season. He is batting .200, with five runs scored.

Bellevue Community College: Lindbergh’s Jonathan Leung.

– Leung, a sophomore first baseman, has two hits in 13 at-bats this season. He has one RBI.

Pierce College: Hazen’s Ben Mednikoff and Wes Hardy.
