Newport beat the young Liberty team 8-1 Wednesday.

Emmie Kellog-Smith earned the lone victory for Liberty with a singles win against Lani Nunokawa. Kellog-Smith won in two sets 7-6 (7-5) and 6-1.

In other singles matches: Amber Eastham fell to Amie Vo, Kayli Stixk fell to Tomomi Matsushita, Alison Martin fell to Karina Vaksman, Jaime Hitchcock fell to Lauren Kayahara and Nicole Smith fell to Faith Mach.
