Liberty topped Newport 6-4 Monday in a season-opening game for the Patriots.

Ana Faoro scored two runs for the Patriots (1-0). Denise Blohawiak pitched the complete game for Liberty, allowing four runs.

Hazen 13, Evergreen 2

Hazen beat Evergreen 13-2 Monday for its first win of the season.

Becca Erb earned the win for Hazen (1-1, 1-0). Chelsie Moorhead, Kellie Pederson and Cassie Skutvik each collected three hits for Hazen.

Lindbergh 21, Foster 2

Lindbergh scored all 21 runs in the first three innings on the way to a 21-2 win against Foster Monday.

Casey Routos pitched five innings with 11 strikeouts to earn the win for the Eagles (1-1, 1-1). Kasey Sporrong went 3-3 with six RBI. Haylee Pitt went 2-4 with two runs, two RBI and a triple. Amanda Hanrahan went 2-3 with two runs and a double.
