The Liberty girls basketball team fell to Mount Si 39-32 in the KingCo 3A championship game Thursday.

The Patriots (15-8) trailed 10-6 after the first quarter and stayed close the rest of the game.

Danni Sjolander led Liberty with 15 points. Jori Braun led all scorers with 18 points for Mount Si.

Liberty plays Bishop Blanchet (8-15) in the first round of the district tournament Saturday at 7 p.m. at Liberty. The game is loser-out. If the Patriots win they will play Lakeside (14-8) Feb. 15.

If Liberty beats Lakeside, it is guaranteed to make state.
