Male Athlete of the Week: Jaxson Thoreson

Thoreson ran for 141 yards and three touchdown in the Patriots win over Newport.

The Renton Reporter’s male athlete of the week for Oct. 5 is senior Jaxson Thoreson of Liberty High School, football.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math.

Q: Name your Mount Rushmore (Top 4) of Movies?

A: “Remember the Titans”, “The Dark Knight”, “Field of Dreams”, “Talladega Nights”

Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

A: My brother Jacob.

Q: You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

A: Corn Nutz and Arctic Blitz Gatorade.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual

A: Get to the game, start talking about stuff that has nothing to do with football, then talk to absolutely no one an hour before the game. Listen to music, get locked in, anything and everything football..

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: Trance by Travis Scott.

From the sidelines: Jaxson began the season as a wide receiver and had 17 receptions for 415 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2 games. In week 3, he took over at QB due to an injury. His great leadership has been very apparent through all games. In last Friday’s game, he ran for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 38-0 win over Newport. Overall through 4 games, he has 9 total touchdowns and as a defensive back, also has 2 interceptions.
