Lindbergh’s Sarah Reiter wins Mt. Baker invite; Renton Curtis invite results | Cross country

Lindbergh’s Sarah Reiter continued her outstanding season with a win at the Mount Baker Invitational Oct. 2 at Silver Lake Park in Maple Falls.

Reiter took first in the girls three-mile varsity race, with a time of 17 minutes, 36 seconds. Reiter beat the second-place runner, Lynden Christian’s Marissa Hielkema, by nearly a minute.

The Eagles’ Jasmine Fallgreen finished 13th with a time of 20:01.47. Mercedes Tischer (41st), Elizabeth Hansen (48th), Thuong Nguyen (66th), Brenna Fisher (70th) and Ashley Pigott (109th) followed in the three-mile varsity race.

Mark Garcia led all Eagle runners in the three-mile varsity boys race. Garcia placed eight and finished in a time of 16:19.07. Nate Tandecki (ninth) and Luke Garcia (10th) followed closely behind. Nathan Haley (13th), Alex Nelson (19th), Ben Platt (21st) and Travis Downen (22nd) followed in the varsity race.

Lindbergh sophomore Mohamud Abdi won the three-mile junior varsity race with a time of 17:07.61. Mitchell Hughey (fifth), Eugene Pioquinto (10th), Sterling Nugent (14th), Omelyan Strembitskyy (15th), Peter Han (16th) and Brett Love (19th) also placed in the Top 20 of the JV race.

Renton

The Renton boys and girls cross-country teams each placed sixth at the Curtis Invitational at Titlow Park Oct. 2.

Senior Saugat Chhetri led the way for Renton with an 18th-place finish in the boys varsity race. He finished with a time of 17:32.92. Aslan DaVault (27th), Brian Reilly (30th), Hamilton Carter (47th), Adriel Paine (60th), Immanuel Carter (88th) and Tyler Pascucal (91st) followed in the varsity race.

Freshman Joy Barnes placed seventh in the girls varsity race with a time of 20:36.96. Mary Grace Asirot (23rd), Dalena Pham (57th), Tricia Bui (62nd), Cynthia Fang (78th) and Carina Barnes (87th) followed in the varsity race.
