Lindbergh’s Lane and Bayna, Hazen’s Li and Jones compete at state | Tennis

Both of Renton's qualifying doubles teams won at least one match at the 3A state tennis tournament May 28-29 at Vancouver Tennis Center. Lindbergh's Ulysses Lane and T.J. Bayna lost 6-0, 6-0 to Andrew LaCava and Jason Bediones of Seattle Prep in the first round. LaCava and Bediones went on to win the state title.

Both of Renton’s qualifying doubles teams won at least one match at the 3A state tennis tournament May 28-29 at Vancouver Tennis Center.

Lindbergh’s Ulysses Lane and T.J. Bayna lost 6-0, 6-0 to Andrew LaCava and Jason Bediones of Seattle Prep in the first round. LaCava and Bediones went on to win the state title.

Lane and Bayna beat Evan Segnirant and Nikhil Das of North Thurston 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (7) in the second round, then fell to Brendan Soelling and Daniel Snyder of Everett 6-2, 6-3.

The tournament was double elimination.

Hazen’s Jack Li and Colin Jones lost 6-0, 6-1 to Max Franklin and Andrew Smith of Mercer Island in the first round. Franklin and Smith took second in the tournament.

Li and Jones beat Dean Kamplaine and Carter Lim of Kennedy Catholic 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the second round, then fell 6-1, 7-5 in the next round.
