A late push by Interlake gave the Saints a 51-40 win against the Lindbergh girls basketball team Wednesday. The Eagles (0-1) trailed by three at the half, but gained the lead with a 14-10 advantage in the third quarter. The fourth quarter was all about Interlake, as the team outscored Lindbergh 18-6.

LIBERTY

The Liberty boys basketball team bounced back from a season-opening loss to beat Mariner 44-36 Wednesday.

The Patriots (1-1) trailed by 18 through two quarters, but dominated after that, outscoring Mariner 26-4 in the second half. That included a 16-0 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Robbie Thomas scored 16 points to lead the Patriots. Ben Wessell added seven.

Liberty fell to Lake Stevens 63-53 Tuesday night. Tynan Gilmore led the team with 14 points. Thomas and Jordan West each scored 10.

Liberty opens league play against Sammamish Friday at Sammamish at 8 p.m.

 

LINDBERGH

Lindbergh opened the season with a big, 72-41 win against Chief Leschi Wednesday.

The Eagles (1-0) cruised to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter and led 59-29 through three quarters.

Jimmy Keum led the way w ith 15 points. Colin Malone scored 14, Casey Huppe 12 and Herman Clark 10.

 

HAZEN

Hazen stayed close, but ultimately fell to Edmonds-Woodway 65-60 Wednesday night.

The Highlanders (0-1) led 19-16 after the first quarter, but trailed by one at the half.

Frankie Johnson led Hazen with 17 points. Alex Olson added 12.
