Lindbergh boys make league history with perfect finish; Mark Garcia, Sarah Reiter win Seamount titles | Cross country

Lindbergh cross country made a little more history at the Seamount League meet Oct. 14 as the Eagles boys team won with a perfect score.

The girls and boys JV teams also won league titles.

Mark Garcia finished as the Seamount league champion, running a time of 17 minutes, three seconds. Mark’s twin brother, Luke, placed second at 17:08. Mohamud Abid, Nate Tandecki and Nathan Haley followed for Lindbergh, giving the Eagles the first perfect finish in Seamount League history.

Those five runners, plus Alex Nelson earned all-league honors by placing in the top 10.

Sarah Reiter finished as the girls Seamount champion. Reiter ran a time of 18:30, two minutes and 30 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.

Lindbergh’s Jasmine Fallgreen (third), Anna Patti (fourth) and Elizabeth Hansen (eighth) earned all-league honors.

Lindbergh junior Eugene Pioquinto won the boys JV race. Lindbergh runners took the top eight spots in the JV race.

Hazen sophomore Daniel Karpman was the top non-Lindbergh runner. Karpman placed sixth in the boys varsity race. Hazen junior Conner Hall placed eighth and Renton senior Aslan DaVault finished 10th.

Renton freshman Joy Barnes finished second in the girls race. Renton senior Mary Grace Asirot (fifth), Hazen senior Lindsey Strandberg (ninth) and Hazen sophomore Ashley Selover (tenth) rounded out the girls top ten.

The cross-country sub-district meet is Oct. 23 at Fort Steilacoom. The 2A boys varsity race (Lindbergh and Renton) is at 10:30 a.m. The 3A boys varsity race (Hazen) is at 11:00 a.m. The 2A girls varsity race is at 11:30 a.m. and the 3A girls varsity race is at 12:10 p.m.
