Liberty’s Cassidy Nangle 3A MVP, four more make all-state teams | Girls soccer

Washington soccer coaches selected Liberty senior Cassidy Nangle as the 3A soccer MVP. Nangle also made the all-state first team as announced Monday.

Washington soccer coaches selected Liberty senior Cassidy Nangle as the 3A soccer MVP. Nangle also made the all-state first team as announced Monday.

Nangle scored 15 goals for the Patriots, tied for the team lead, as the team went all the way to the 3A championship game. Nangle is committed to play soccer for the University of Oklahoma next year. Teammate Kimi Fry also made the all-state first team at midfielder. Fry scored four goals and dished out a team-leading 13 assists. Fry has committed to play soccer for the University of San Diego next year.

Teammate Kiana Hafferty made the all-state second team at midfielder. Hafferty, a junior, scored 10 goals and collected nine assists.

Hazen senior goalkeeper Priscilla Yu made the second team at goalkeeper. Yu racked up five shutouts this year as the Highlanders took the Seamount’s top 3A seed and finished just short of the state tournament.

Lindbergh senior Whitney Hilde earned honorable mention at midfielder for the 2A all-state team. Hilde scored 10 goals and collected 10 assists for Lindbergh, both led the team. She was also selected the Seamount’s player of the year as the Eagles won the Seamount championship this season. Hilde will play soccer for Portland State University next year.
