Liberty holds on against Interlake; Hazen beats Renton in doubleheader | Softball

The Liberty softball team moved into sixth place in the KingCo 3A/2A with a 7-6 win against Interlake Thursday.

The Patriots (7-8 overall, 6-7 KingCo 3A/2A) scored in each of the first four innings and never trailed in the game. Liberty led 7-4 until Interlake mounted a late rally by scoring two in the sixth.

Amber Smith earned the win for Liberty. Allie Wood had three RBI and a home run. Liza VanCamp went 2-4 with a triple and an RBI. Jenn Rucker went 3-3 with a double.

 

Hazen keeps Renton winless

The Hazen softball team beat Renton 13-2 and 20-0 in a doubleheaer Thursday.

The Highlanders (7-7, 7-7 Seamount) have won four of their past five games. Renton (0-13, 0-13) is still looking for its first win of the season.

Kristina Holm earned both wins for Hazen and improved her season record to 7-5.

Hazen’s Danielle Martin went 2-3. Savannah Hilt went 3-3. Megan Bridgman, Lena Chindamany and Carissa Ofthus all had multiple hits as well.
