The Liberty football team is already getting its strong passing game into gear. The Patriots won a 7-on-7 tournament at the University of Washington over the weekend.
Liberty’s best win came in the finals against Skyline. The Patriots edged the Spartans by a touchdown.
Junior-to-be quarterback Trey Wheeler led the team’s dynamic passing game at the tournament.
Wheeler passed for 1,638 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore starter for Liberty last season. He made the AP 3A all-state team as a punter.
