The Liberty girls basketball team made quick work of Sammamish Dec. 3, beating the Totems 63-13.
The Patriots (2-1 overall, 1-0 KingCo 3A/2A) got off to a fast start, building a 28-2 lead in the first quarter. Ten different players scored for Liberty, with seven scoring six points or more.
Aspen Winegar led the team with 10 points, on 5-for-5 shooting.
Liberty out-rebounded Sammamish 31 to 17 and took advantage of 24 Totem turnovers in the game.
Sophie Safley scored nine points, while Danni Sjolander, Halie Ericksen and Karlie Ludwig each scored eight.

Liberty’s late comeback came up short against Sammamish, as the Patriots lost 58-53 Dec. 3.
Liberty (0-2) led by two after the first quarter, but fell behind by seven at the half. The Totems built a 15-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Liberty got to within five points.
Chandler Jenkins led Liberty with 14 points. Tynan Gilmore scored 12 and Robbie Thomas scored 10.
