After a rough start to the KingCo tournament, Liberty bounced back to earn a berth into the SeaKing District 2 tournament.

The Patriots play Bishop Blanchet Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lower Woodlands in Seattle.

Liberty started the KingCo tournament with a 16-1 loss to Mount Si May 13. The Patriots then beat Sammamish 9-5 May 14 to earn the league’s No. 4 seed into districts.

The Totems scored first and moved ahead 1-0 in the first inning. Liberty quickly responded with four runs in the bottom of the first. The Patriots then built a 9-1 lead after four innings.

Denise Blohowiak went 1-2 with two RBI’s at the plate and earned the win on the mound. Anna Faoro went 2-3 with two runs. Jen Rucker had a home run. Miranda Bukantz went 1-3 with two RBI’s.
