Hazen’s Bunnell named state 3A MVP | BOYS SOCCER

This year, Bunnell was named captain and led the Highlanders to a 14-2-4 overall record and Seamount League championship.

Hazen senior forward Sam Bunnell was named the class 3A MVP by the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association.

He was also selected for the class 3A first team.

This year, Bunnell was named captain and led the Highlanders to a 14-2-4 overall record and Seamount League championship, posting an undefeated 11-0-3 record in league play.

The team also won the district and bi-district championships, making their way to the state tournament quarterfinals, where they lost to Shorecrest, who finished second to Bonney Lake in the tournament.

“It may be hard for most of you to believe but Sam’s accomplishments have pretty much left me speechless!” Coach Ken Matthews said in an email. “Thank you Sam for all you accomplished for Hazen Soccer. It has been an extreme pleasure to be your coach.”
