Hazen’s Bunnell named Seamount soccer Athlete of the Year | BOYS SOCCER

Four Hazen players and one Renton player named to All-League first team.

Hazen forward Sam Bunnell was named the Seamount League’s Athlete of the Year this past week. Joining him in the top honors was coach Ken Matthews, who earned the league’s Coach of the Year award.

In addition, four Hazen players were named to the Seamount All-League first team. Goalie Freddy Jeronimo, who stepped in mid-season when the Highlander’s starter was injured, rode a series of shutouts to be named to the team, along with junior Kyle Bunnell, senior Angard Singh and midfielder Devin Sando were also named to the team.

Renton freshman midfielder Zack Hasson also earned a spot of the All-League first team.

Hazen senior forward Marcelo Castro and freshman midfielder Reyes Garcia, along with Renton junior forward Christian Plancarte and junior midfielder Kapkyi Lwai were named to the All-League second team.

Earning honorable mentions were Lindbergh freshman defender Daniel Fox, sophomore forward Efrain Velasco and junior midfielder Mengistiab Woldeareg, Renton senior defender/midfielder Anas Hussein, junior goalie Luis Arias and freshman midfielder Jose Mora, and Hazen senior midfielder Luis Puga.
