Hazen tennis falls to Kennedy, but bounces back against Evergreen

The Hazen tennis team’s seven-match winning streak came to an end Tuesday night in a rain-shortened match that saw Kennedy Catholic racking up enough victories for the win before the clouds opened.

But the Highlanders bounced right back Wednesday with a 6-1 win over Evergreen to get it rolling again.

On Tuesday, Elise Wong lost her second singles match 1-6, 0-6 while the first doubles team of Gabbie Solis-Lazenby and her partner fell 6-0, 6-0 while MinhThu Nguyen and Amy Huynh lost 7-5, 6-0 and the third doubles team of Kelly lo and Andressa Chan lost 6-3, 6-4.

All other matches were suspended due to rain.

On Wednesday, Hazen returned to form. Forst singles player Catherine Lin won her match 6-0, 6-3, while Kristy Huynh won 6-1, 6-1, Amy Huynh won 6-1, 6-3 and Constance La won 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, Lo and Chan won 6-0, 6-0, MinhThu Nguyen and Lillian Mai won by default. Only Solis-Lazenby and her partner fell, losing 6-4, 6-1.

The Highlanders are scheduled to play at Foster on Friday.
