The Hazen boys soccer team lost to Interlake 5-1 Thursday night.
The Highlanders (0-1-1) fell behind by four goals in the first 30 minutes, before turning their play around with a change in formation.
“We changed formations on the fly,” Hazen coach Ken Matthews said. “I thought we would wait to do it at the half, but nothing we were doing was working.”
Matthews said the changes helped Hazen significantly improve its play in the second half. The Highlanders got on the board at the 72-minute mark when Sam Bunnell knocked in a shot off the cross bar from Ryan Wong.
