On the plus side, the Hazen Highlanders held the second-place Kentlake Falcons to just a single touchdown in Thursday’s game at Renton Memorial Stadium. Unfortunately for Hazen, it proved to be enough as the Highlanders fell 7-2.
Kentlake got their touchdown in the first quarter on a 14-yard pass to go up 7-0.
In the second, Hazen’s defense forced a safety to put them on the board.
But the game bogged down into a defensive struggle and the two teams stayed locked at 7-2 through the game’s end.
With the loss, Hazen falls to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the North Puget Sound League. They play at Kennedy Catholic on Friday.
