Hazen faces Auburn Mountainview in sub-districts; Lindbergh on to sub-districts too | Soccer

The Hazen soccer team beat Highline 3-0 Saturday to clinch a berth into the sub-district tournament.

The Highlanders (6-6-2) finished tied with Evergreen for second in the Seamount.

Freddie Jeronimo worked the shutout against the Pirates. Samuel Bunnell (Estaban Padilla assist), Padilla and Conner Hall scored Hazen’s goals.

Hazen will play Auburn Mountainview (9-6) Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood. The loser is out and the winner advances to districts as the fifth seed.

The Lions placed third in the SPSL 3A and were led by Issac Cardoza, who scored 13 goals.

 

Lindbergh

The Eagles (3-9-3) will play a loser-out, sub-district playoff game Wednesday, the time and site are to be determined.

If Lindbergh wins, they will move to play Fife (15-1) in a loser-out, winner-to-district game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Franklin Pierce.

 

Liberty

The Patriots (5-9-2) finished sixth in the KingCo 3A/2A and just missed the KingCo tournament. Liberty won two of its final three games, beating Juanita and Mercer Island each 1-0.

 

Renton

The Indians (0-10-1) ended their season-long losing streak with a 1-1 tie against Foster May 3. Renton ended the season with a 4-0 loss to Evergreen May 5.
