Hazen boys earn fourth at districts; full results from Hazen, Lindbergh and Renton | Track & field

The Hazen boys track and field team is peaking at just the right time. The Highlanders scored 40 points and tied for third at the West Central District III meet May 22 at Mount Tahoma. Lindbergh placed seventh, scoring 32 points. Renton scored 20 and tied for 16th.

Top six placers in each event qualified for state.

Hazen senior James Holland earned the district title in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.11 seconds.

Renton’s Evan Curry placed fifth in the event.

Hazen’s Duncan Mackay placed second in the 100-meter dash, while Lindbergh’s Frank Cange placed sixth. Mackay also took third in the 200.

Lindbergh’s Nate Reitz placed sixth in the 800.

Lindbergh’s Trevor Thompson placed fourth in the 1,600 and second in the 3,200. Thompson ran a time of nine minutes, 16.69 seconds in the 3,200, his best time of the season by four seconds.

Holland placed fourth in the 300 hurdles, Curry finished fifth.

Lindbergh took second in the 4×100 (Adam Freed, Devan Bickham, Cange and Derek Roseboro). Hazen earned fourth (Holland, Mackay, Stephen Johnson and Tyler Snow). Renton (P.J. Benedictus, Robert Reeves III, Curry and Laudon Thomas) missed the finals by 0.13 seconds.

Renton’s 4×400 team (Benedictus, Chris Tramble, Thomas and Immanuel Carter) finished fifth.

Hazen’s Kyle Martin placed third in the pole vault. Lindbergh’s David Bowman finished fifth in the long jump. Benedictus took third in the triple jump.

The Renton girls team finished 15th, with 17 points. Hazen tied for 16th (13 points) and Lindbergh took 18th (11).

Hazen’s Starr Williams took fifth in the 100, while teammate Airashay Rogers finished sixth. Renton’s Taylor Williams finished third in the 200. Lindbergh’s Elise Aylward placed fourth in the 400.

Renton’s Amadi Bentley finished third in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles.

Hazen’s 4×100 team (Madison Dinger, Williams, Fabiana Stapleton and Rogers) finished second.

Lindbergh’s 4×400 team (Ericka Galindo, Tianna Banfro, Monique Smith and Aylward) finished sixth.

Rogers took fourth in the shot put.
