Gymnastics roundups: Lindbergh beats Renton, Liberty loses by less than a point

Skyline 143.95, Liberty 143.65

Liberty fell by less than a point to Skyline Thursday afternoon. The Patriots scored 143.65 points, but it wasn’t quite enough to top Skyline’s 143.95.

Damielle Kemmerer placed second in all-around, bars and floor for Liberty. Hannah Bergman placed third in all-around. Cortney Schirman tied for second in beam. Miranda Jones placed third in floor. Ally Huberty placed third in vault.

Liberty’s Cammie Fuentes won the vault competition, with a score of 8.5.

Lindbergh 137.1, Renton 121.65

Another great meet for Louise Baker and Christine Yamaguchi led to a 137.1-121.65 win for Lindbergh against Renton Tuesday.

Baker won the all-around, bars, floor and vault. Baker placed second in the beam.

Yamaguchi won the beam. She placed second in all-around, bars and vault, while finishing third in floor.

Aleyna Yamaguchi placed third in bars and beam. She took second in the floor competition.

Renton’s Kristin Haag placed third in the all-around competition.

Victoria Fernandes took a third place finish in the vault for the Indians.
