The 10U CVAC Wildcats took first place at the 7th Annual July 4th Blast Tournament in Tacoma.
The team went 2-2 in their first four games played on July 2-2, and finished 5-2 overall to take first in the elimination bracket.
In the semi-final game on Sunday, the Wildcats were down 0-6 to the Kent Bulldogs in the 3rd inning.
“That was when our bats came alive and our pitching went lights out,” said Wildcats coach Bob Roggenbach.
The Wildcats came back to win the game 12-7.
The championship game against Lake Tapps was very exciting and competitive down to the last pitch of the game but the Wildcats reamined on top, 2-1.
“The kids played very well but had to be exhausted playing 7 games between Friday night and Sunday afternoon. The entire coaching staff was extremely proud of the way our players battled all weekend.”
