Bob Stewart resigns as Lindbergh volleyball coach

After eight years as the head volleyball coach at Lindbergh High School, Bob Stewart resigned this spring.

“Internal policies and procedures that weren’t conducive to running a good program were the reasons I left,” Stewart said in an e-mail. “It was a very difficult decision for me, but I came to the conclusion that I couldn’t manage my team under the circumstances.”

Stewart started coaching in the Renton School District in 1996 at Renton High School. In 2002, he moved to Lindbergh.

Lindbergh was always among the top half of the Seamount with Stewart as coach. Last year, the Eagles beat Mount Rainier for the first time since 2004.

“I’m hopeful they’ll find a good coach for the kids,” Stewart said. “There are a bunch of good players who will be returning this fall.”
