Baseball: Kyle Bernal’s walk-off single leads Eagles; Chad Garton’s 10 K’s lead Hazen

Kennedy 13, Renton 0

Kennedy scored early and often in a 13-0 win against Renton Tuesday.

Renton (1-9 overall, 1-9 league) fell behind after the first two innings. The Indians managed just one hit off of Kennedy’s Derrick Lewis and Chris Louiseau, but the team did draw five walks.

Lindbergh 2, Highline 1

Lindbergh broke a tie with a seventh-inning RBI single from Kyle Bernal to beat Highline 2-1 Tuesday.

The Eagles (7-3, 7-3) got an excellent start from Kyle Swannack. Swannack pitched the complete game, allowing six hits and striking out eight.

Bernal went 1-3 with an RBI. Blake Gray went 3-3 with a run scored. Bakari Davis went 1-2 with a run. Tommy Kawamura went 1-3 with an RBI.

Hazen 13, Foster 3

With an outstanding performance from Chad Garton, Hazen topped Highline 13-3 Tuesday.

Garton pitched five innings, allowing just two hits, no walks and no runs. He struck out 10.

The Highlanders (6-3, 6-4) are just half a game behind Lindbergh for fourth place in the league.

Anthony Pina went 3-4 with three runs. John Wall went 4-4 with two runs.
