Stephen Kriner | Obituary

Stephen Kriner, age 73 of Tonasket, WA passed away on May 22, 2023 in Tonasket, WA, where he succumbed to a nine- month battle with cancer.

Stephen was born on July 30, 1949 in Tacoma, WA. He grew up on Lake Sammamish and graduated Issaquah High School in 1967. He lived in Renton, WA with his wife Marylou, until they moved to Oroville, WA in 2009, where Stephen retired from the freight industry and him and Marylou started up a farm. They had a beautiful home that they loved, one where they could sit on their porch and overlook the mountains. After many years at their home in Oroville, they decided to move to Tonasket, WA in 2015.

Stephen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed a good round of golf – he got his first hole in one on February 28, 1988, 138 yards with an 8 iron. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, he really loved the outdoors and all animals – he had numerous pets and loved them all, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and the many adventures he had, and he enjoyed a good book and Sudoku puzzles (only the hard ones.)

Stephen had a nickname of MacGyver, he was able to fix everything and help everyone.

Stephen is survived by his wife; Marylou, son; William (Stacey), daughter; Stephanie (Damon), granddaughter; Madison, grandson; William, two bonus grandchildren; Jacob and Lillian, sister-in-law; Kathy, niece; Michelle, nephew; Darrin and mother; Dorothy.

Stephen is preceded in death by his brother; William and father; William C.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lake Sawyer Community Club, 29006 216th Ave SE, Black Diamond, WA 98010.
