SHIRLEY PALMER

Shirley Palmer of Renton died in Renton on Saturday, December 28, 2019. She was 84 years old.

Shirley was born on July 29, 1935 in Perry, Oklahoma. The daughter of Elmer Ripley and Rosa Hageman. She graduated from Orlando High School in 1952 where she was an outstanding basketball player. She attended Central State College at Edmund, Oklahoma on a Basketball Scholarship.

Shirley married Jim, her husband of 54 years in Enid, Oklahoma. They lived in Quantico, Virginia where Jim was stationed in the Marine Corps. They moved to Wichita, Kansas and then to Seattle in 1958. Shirley was a Wife, Mom, and Homemaker until she decided to return to work for the Renton School District in Food Services. She retired in 1992 after 22 years.

She is survived by sons Kendall and Kelly of Renton, daughter-in-law Melody of Renton, and sister Rose Marie Knight of Perry, Oklahoma.

Grandchildren include Harmony (Tim), Kody Palmer, Rebecca Adams, Jamie Sanislo (Kyle), Leah Drake, Lacey Parramore (Craig), Sierra Gage, and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband Jim (2009), son Keith (2005), son Kirk (1960), and daughter Kim (2013).
