March 21, 1926 to October 2, 2009Our beloved father and grandfather (Papa), passed away on October 2nd, in Wenatchee, at the age of 83. He was born and raised in Renton, and married his sweetheart, Frances Lorane Camp (Dee) in 1950.Some of Dad’s favorite family activities were camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and panning for gold. He was very active in Renton’s community affairs. He was involved with the Gene Coulon Park Project, the Salvation Army, Renton Chamber of Commerce, Renton Historical Society, the Youth Center Program, Kennydale Pollution Committee, Urban Affairs Committee, and the list goes on. Dad worked at Boeing for many years, then was elected a Renton City Councilman serving for 12 years, part of that time he was Council President. He belonged to organizations such as the Elks, Masonic Lodge, as well as serving his country. He was a proud U.S. Navy combat veteran of WWII. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances (Dee) Hughes, in 2007. Daughter, Robin Dee, granddaughter, Rochelle D. Connor, grandson, Bryan R. Taft, and his five great-grandchildren, all live in Wenatchee. There will be no service at Dad’s request. Remembrances may be made to the Renton Historical Society, your local Historical Society, or the Disabled Vets of America.
