Robert Eugene Christensen Sr. Born August 19, 1931 in Viborg, SD to Leonard and Carrie Christensen: died March 7, 2010 at the age of 78. Father of Karen (John Lowery) and Kammy (Doug Emery). Also survived by sister Doris (Tootie) Helwig and brother Merlyn (Chris), 6 grand-children and 9+ great-grandchildren.Preceded in death by father Leonard Christensen, son Robert E. Christensen Jr. and grandson Shaun Rogers. He served in the Army and Navy where he served in the Korean War on the USS Princeton and he received three Medals of Honor. His favorite past time was watching racing. His love of racing started at Huset’s Speedway where he was a flagman, was on several pit crews and also drove in demolition derbys.
