Ralph Snowden

Ralph Snowden, born in Seattle WA on 3/14/32, left us to be with his Saviour on 4/1/16. Ralph attended Roosevelt H.S. He met and married his wife Darlene Hughes in 1952 and they were blessed with 3 children; Dennis, Diane, and Douglas. Ralph was a jockey at Longacres, PM, Playfair, GG, AZ Downs, and AZ Fairgrounds. A spill at Longacres ended his career as a jockey, but he went on to become a Steward for WA State Horseracing Commission. He loved bird hunting, golfing, and watching sports. He was a member of The Jockey’s Guild, Maplewood Golf Club, Ducks Unlimited and The United Christian Church of Renton.

He is survived by his wife Darlene, 3 children, twin sister Ruth Nissen, uncle Fred Snowden, grandchildren; Anthony, Jeffrey, Steven, Bobby, Dennis, and Danielle. He was survived by numerous nephews, nieces and many friends.

Private graveside services were held 3/14/16. A memorial to be held at Emerald Downs 1-4 pm on 4/20/16.
