Paul William Alexander, age 88, died May 14, 2011 in Sun City, Arizona from complications of a stroke. Paul was born in Havana, Kansas, November 17, 1922, the son of George C. Alexander and Anna K. Schott, the third of six children, and was raised and educated in Hutchinson, Kansas. On August 2, 1942, he married Z. Alaire “Larrie” Trent. Together they raised three girls, and were life-long companions until her death in 2001. A veteran, Paul served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. In 1951, they moved to Ogden, Utah, where Paul worked as an accountant/comptroller for several businesses. Paul earned his license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in 1974. Paul and Larrie moved to Arizona in 1975, where Paul was Comptroller of Haskell Linen Supply in Tucson. They moved to Renton, Washington where they purchased a business, PIP Printing in 1983. He retired in 2004 after he experienced a stroke. In 2007, Paul returned to Arizona where he lived in Sun City at the Heritage Palmeras until his death. Paul was an active leader and participant in civil, fraternal and church organizations. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees, as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and a Treasurer of the church in several communities. Paul joined the Lions Club in 1955 and during his 56 years of service held many offices, including District Governor and President at several clubs. He had a passion for the mission of the Lions Club and was a faithful member until his death. In Renton, Paul belonged to the Chamber of Commerce, Lions and Kiwanis Clubs, and the First United Methodist Church of Renton. Paul enjoyed golfing, bowling, singing, and following collegiate and professional sports. But, he loved the game of golf and had two Holes-in-One to his credit. He belonged to Patio Springs Country Club in Ogden and Oro Valley Country Club in Tucson. Besides his wife Larrie, his greatest joy was his unique relationship with each of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his daughters and their husbands. He loved being a part of their lives. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his wife. Surviving are two brothers, Kenneth (Hope) Alexander, Wichita, Kansas; Roy (Betty Jean) Alexander, Washington, Utah; one sister, Nina Mae Good, Wichita, Kansas. Daughters, Marsha (Bob) Rodrigues, Portal, Arizona; Deanna (Neil) Kreeck, Glendale, Arizona; Vicki (Blaine) Ghan, Anchorage, Alaska; Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Renton, located at 2201 NE 4th Street, Renton, Washington.
