Pamela I. Nichols

2.4.1949 – 5.29.2010

Pamela I. Nichols, 61 years young, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2010, after a brave five-month battle against GBM (brain cancer). Pam was also known as Pam Hagan, or Pamela Addleman.Born to M. Irene Shapley and Burritt F. Nichols on February 4, 1949 in Seattle, Pam was raised on Lake MacDonald and attended Issaquah High c.1967. She followed her dreams often, and later lived in Renton/May Valley, Issaquah, Easton, Spokane, Naches, and most recently, Yakima. Some may remember her as a Den Mother for Troop 498, or as a tireless school volunteer/costumer for Apollo Elementary and Maywood MS. Pam started her own artisan design business, an arts & crafts mini-empire known as “Pam’s Pantry” (creator of the ‘Kitchen Witch’ and dough art baskets & ornaments). Pam later worked at The Country Mouse in Issaquah, and recently made a career creating drinks (& friends) at the Yakima Hilton. She continued doing design and merchandising gigs until her diagnosis last year.Pam’s father passed away in 1978 and her mother died in 1999, as did her very dear brother Russ. Her living family includes her only son, Phoenix (also known for a while as “Tommy”), her grandson Rune, her two sisters Voni (Schubert) & Colleen (Sargo), and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her two beloved dogs Zack & Cody. At her request, in lieu of funeral ceremonies, there’ll be a celebration of her life this Saturday, June 26 at 1pm, at Lake Sammamish state park in Issaquah. Old friends, neighbors, clients and loved ones are all welcome to attend this casual and potluck-style wake. For questions contact threedragons@earthlink.net or 509.945.7216. Earlier the same day “Team PAM” will walk in her honor at Seattle Center: Team Pam’s webpage can be found at www.braincancerwalk.org – please join the team or consider making a remembrance for Pam.Pamela embodied the Christmas spirit: the power of generosity, altruism and unconditional love. We all miss her.
