Michael G. Mansfield

Michael George Mansfield, 72, passed away peacefully January 29, 2012 in Kent.Born in Spokane, WA, on February 19, 1939 to Thomas Browning “Pat” and Elizabeth Mansfield, Mike resided in the Kent-Renton area for nearly 50 years. After graduating from Ephrata High School, Mike went on to earn a business degree at Washington State University.Mike is survived by his wife, Joan of 48 years; his son Mark and his wife Darla of Olympia; his son Greg and his wife Autumn of Issaquah; his brother Pat and his wife Donna of Auburn; and his grandchildren Megan and Tyler of Olympia.Mike had a passion for sports and helped coach youth basketball teams in the area. He worked for Boeing for over 35 years before retiring in 2001. An avid outdoorsmen, Mike enjoyed hunting with his father and later in life picked up skiing and golf.Mike will be remembered for his quick wit and friendly sense of humor. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 3 at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home.
