James (Jim) C. Larson

James C. Larson of Odessa, WA, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at his home. He was 82 years of age. A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1301 E Division Avenue, Ephrata, WA 98823-1957 on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, there will be a time of gathering for family and friends at the church. Jim was born March 23, 1929 in Richland, WA to Faye and William Larson. His first marriage was to Barbara Pietromonaco in 1949, and they had five children together. He married his second wife, Edna Larson in 1960 and they spent most of their lives in Ravensdale, WA until she passed in December 1989. He then moved to Odessa, WA in 2005 where he lived out the remainder of his life doing the things he loved most, hunting, fishing, gardening and being involved in his church. Jim served in the Coast Guard and his remains will be placed in the Richland Cemetery with Military honors at a later date. During his life, Jim held many different jobs; driving a bakery truck for the Pink Elephant company, MetLife Insurance, and retired as an oiler from The Boeing Company in Auburn, WA. He is survived by his children Valerie Florin, Judy Stephens, Rob Larson, Steve Larson Jim Larson and Judy Fee. He is also survived by three siblings; Frankie Stewart, Bud Larson and Oscar Larson. He was preceded in death by his second wife Edna Toman Larson of Ravensdale, and his stepsons, Edward Jewell and Dick Markus. During his last days, Jim was cared for by Carol (Luxner) Giest, whom he thought of as his daughter and she him, as her father. He had 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
