Irene Lambert

Irene Lambert

7/26/1923 – 10/31/2010

After a brief illness, Irene passed away peacefully at home with family nearby. Born in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Margaret Irene, always known as Irene, was the second child of Elias and Margaret Christensen. She met and married her husband, Joe A. Lambert, in Los Angeles, CA during World War II. While Joe served in the army, Irene moved to Bellingham, WA in 1945 to live with her parents. After the war the couple moved to Renton in 1947 and have lived there to the present. Irene is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe, three daughters, Jeanette (Ralph) Teague, Susan Miller (Tim Adderson), and Cathleen Lambert (Allen Nakano); five grandsons, Lawrence Teague, Matthew Miller, Joe Miller, Raif Moon, Jim Moon and eight great-grandchildren. Irene worked briefly for the Boeing Company before retiring to become a full time homemaker. An excellent cook, she enjoyed planning family gatherings and was hostess to many fondly remembered holiday celebrations. She volunteered at the Puget Sound Blood Bank for 20 years and enjoyed bowling, golf and camping. A private family memorial service is being planned.
