GERALDINE MCQUILLER

Geraldine McQuiller was born May 16, 1914, to parents John & Sue Bookrum in Columbus, Ohio.

Geraldine passed away on January 29, 2020 in Renton, Washington at the age of 105 years old.

Geraldine was married to Jeathro McQuiller in Port Huron, Michigan and celebrated 73 years of marriage.

She was “Momma” to four children with one surviving son; Kevin McQuiller and celebrated being a grandmother (Granny) to seven grandchildren, 21 great-grand-children and four great-great-grandchildren.

Geraldine worked as a housekeeper and nanny for the same family for 20 years, giving the family members her love and devotion.

Geraldine babysat and helped raise not only her own son and grandchildren but any others that needed her.

Geraldine loved her community and volunteered for 10 years at the Port Huron Senior Services and 60 years in her church. She considered everyone she met her friend. She believed a smile was the universal language.

Geraldine and her husband Jeathro, moved to Renton in 2000 to live with her son and daughter-in-law Norma McQuiller and were active at the Renton Senior Center, which she loved attending and enjoyed many friendships.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeathro, three children, son Jeathro Jr, daughter Joann and son Harold.

A family graveside service will be held at Olivet Cemetery in Renton, followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Geraldine was awarded, by Denis Law, Mayor of Renton, the Proclamation on May 22, 2017 as Geraldine Bookrum McQuiller Day.
