Charles F. (Rick) Kokko

Rick passed away February 26, 2011. He was born in Seattle, on March 17, 1943 to Carl and Mae Kokko. Rick is preceded in death by his father Carl and survived by his mother Mae, 3 sisters, Carleen Bell, Susan and Penny Jones (John). A lifetime resident of Renton, Rick graduated from Renton High School class of 1961. Following graduation he served in the US Air Force, returning to Renton working for a short time for Boeing before working for the City of Renton. Rick started in the Parks Dept. and worked various jobs retiring 35 years later in Permits and Planning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping trips with family and friends, was part-owner in a race horse at Longacres, but his true passion was baseball. He enjoyed many trips with his baseball buddies to the major ball parks and to Spring Training in Arizona. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 1pm – 4pm at the Renton Community Center, Renton, WA. Donations may be made to the Heart Association or the Renton Fire Dept. Local 864 Benevolent Fund.
