Betty June Lewis Sipila

Betty was born June 18, 1928 to Clair and Beatrice Lewis in Kennydale, Washington. She was the youngest of 10 children who all preceded her in death. She went to Kennydale Grade School, graduating in 1942 and then on to graduate Renton High School in 1946. She then went to work at the High School Library until 1951.

In 1947 she married Jack Sipila and they raised two daughters; Gail and Janice. In 1956 they moved to Hoquiam and in 1974 moved to Olympia. Betty began work for Pacific Northwest Bell in 1978 and retired from US West in 1993.

She liked her little house, flowers, and going to lunch with friends. In Olympia, she was a member of Chapter DC of PEO, The Olympia Woman’s Club, and Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by Gail (Cece) Williams, of Renton; Janice (Brad) Flaherty of Olympia; 5 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

Services will be held 11am on Tuesday, June 14 at Greenwood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Renton, Washington.
