Storms bringing hail, lightning moving into area

The National Weather Service radar is showing a line of storms moving southest into our region that is bringing gusty winds, small hail and heavy rains. Frequent lightning is also part of this line of storms.

The National Weather Service this morning released a special short term forecast calling for a line of thunderstorms to roll through our region.

“If you hear thunder … head in doors,” reads the weather statement.

Hail up to an inch in diameter has been reported in Kitsap County.

Rain between 0.5 and 1 inch per hour can lead to ponding on roadways in low lying areas.

Drivers are reminded not to drive through areas where water completely covers the road.
