Snow expected overnight

Up to five inches of snow is possible just in time for tomorrow morning's commute.

Are you ready for a little pre-holiday snow?

The National Weather Service is calling for a winter storm to move through out area early tomorrow morning, dropping up to five inches of snow just in time for the morning commute, changing to rain by early afternoon.

A cold front is moving into the are, bringing snow to the lowlands of Puget Sound and a witner storm watch will be in effect through tonight into Friday afternoon.

The best chance for snow will come in the pre-sunrise hours of Friday morning. Accumulations of one-to-three inches are possible in the Renton and metro-Seattle areas, with larger accumulations in higher altitudes.

The storm will be moving north from the Tacoma area and roads all throughout the region are expected to be slippery. Drivers are advised to prepare for slippery conditions and delays.
